    Key Takeaways

    • Khosla Ventures led the $50 million Series B round for Even Healthcare, with Alpha Wave participating, and the startup said its total funding is over $120 million.
    • WYDE's arithmetic ranks the $50 million sixth of 11 health funding rows dated 2026 in WYDE's startup directory.
    • Even's fiscal 2025 net loss was about 3.3 times its revenue, based on figures TechCrunch reported from regulatory filings.

TechCrunch and Inc42 reported on October 19, 2026 that the Even Healthcare Series B round raised $50 million, led by Khosla Ventures. Inc42 reported that Even will use the proceeds primarily to expand its hospital network in Bengaluru. WYDE's arithmetic ranks that $50 million sixth of 11 health funding rows dated 2026 in its startup directory.

Khosla Ventures and Alpha Wave in the Even Healthcare Series B

Khosla Ventures has invested in Even since its seed round. TechCrunch reported that the firm is increasing its commitment as Even shifts toward building and running hospitals itself. Alpha Wave also took part. A Series B is a later round of venture funding, usually raised after a startup's first institutional rounds. Inc42 described this round as all-equity, meaning the startup raised the money by selling shares rather than taking loans.

Jai Sajnani, a partner at Khosla Ventures, said early results from Even's hospitals were a key reason the firm led the round. "We look forward to helping the Even team put quality care within reach of every family in Bengaluru and across India," he said.

The two outlets differ on valuation. TechCrunch reported, citing Even, that the round put the company at $300 million, three times its value 18 months earlier. Inc42 reported that Even said its valuation has grown threefold since its previous raise 18 months earlier, and that the company did not give the latest number.

Hospital Model, Member Counts and Readmission Claims

At first, Even sent its members to partner hospitals for care. Mayank Banerjee, who co-founded the company with Matilde Giglio and Alessandro Ialongo, said in an interview that doubts grew after the company found patients had tests or surgery advice it considered unnecessary. He told TechCrunch: "We think patients are getting not only a bad experience, but insurers are getting a bad economic deal." Even then decided to build its own hospitals. Inc42 noted reports in August that Even laid off around 350 employees as it scaled down its insurance business, and said the cuts affected 30-35% of its workforce across multiple teams.

Banerjee said Even has about 250,000 members. He also said the company has logged more than 750,000 patient interactions across consultations, diagnostic tests and surgeries. Inc42 reported that Banerjee said 85-90% of members living near one of Even's Bengaluru hospitals choose the startup for their healthcare needs.

TechCrunch reported that Even says unplanned readmissions at its hospitals run under 1%, while the industry range it cites is 8% to 15%. Inc42 reported that the sub-1% figure applies to programs run with insurance partners. An unplanned readmission is a return to hospital after discharge that was not scheduled.

Inc42 reported that Even runs two multispecialty hospitals (hospitals offering several medical specialties), on Race Course Road and in HBR Layout. Its plan adds one hospital by the end of 2026 and three more by the end of FY27, the Indian fiscal year that runs from April to March. That makes four more hospitals in all.

Even Healthcare Fiscal 2025 Net Loss and Its Rank Among WYDE's 2026 Health Rounds

According to regulatory filings reported by TechCrunch, Even's net loss in fiscal 2025 was ₹902 million (about $9.50 million), up nearly 25% from the year before, against revenue of ₹272 million (about $2.86 million). WYDE's arithmetic puts the net loss at about 3.3 times revenue.

WYDE's startup directory records 11 health funding rows dated 2026, counting Even's new row and Healthleap's seed and Series A rows separately. Neko Health's $700 million Series C, covered in WYDE's Neko Health story, and Zipline's January 2026 growth round, recorded at $600 million in the directory are the two largest. Cadence and Loyal each list $100 million, and Life Biosciences lists $80 million. Five rows are larger than Even's $50 million and five are smaller, which makes $50 million the median of the 11. The directory covers only startups WYDE has recorded, so this is a ranking of WYDE's records, not of all health funding.
